Still Meadow Retreat Center
Yes, we are doing it again!… combining our love of dance, music, yoga, nature and good food into an incredible weekend. You’ll learn African and Tribal Belly dance forms and the rhythms that accompany them.Then unwind with yoga, a long walk through the meadows and woods or perhaps enjoy a sauna and massage.

After all that exercise, eat with impunity sampling Still Meadow’s excellent cuisine. Then shake it at Saturday night’s dance party. Sunday we finish with a sumptuous brunch.

Instructors: Lynea Gillen, Cammi Vance (Darshan), Nicole Dadonna (Gypsy Caravan) & Charlotte McFarlane will teach African Tribal Fusion, Belly Dance Fusion, Tribal Belly and Cabaret Dance forms Jim Gillen leads yoga and World Rhythm Circle. Brad Moore teaches Dumbek drumming. Other guest teachers to be announced.

About Still Meadow: Just 35 minutes Southeast of Portland, near Clackamas, Still Meadow is a picturesque retreat center surrounded by 60-acres of gardens, forested trails and rivers.

African Tribal Dance Class

with Lynea Gillen

1st & 3rd Saturdays, 1:30 - 2:30 pm

Caravan Studio, 4050 NE Broadway, Portland

$10/drop-in; $32 for 4-class card or $5 with Gypsy Caravan class card

Open your heart, loosen your hips and discover the joy of tribal dance! This ongoing class combines the best of African and tribal belly dance moves in an expression that is strong and percussive, yet smooth and flowing. Bring a sense of play, colorful scarves or cloth that can be tied around the hips to accentuate dance movements. Absolutely no prior dance experience is necessary.
